Detailed description

Kinderton Country Club is a Semi-Private 18 holes golf course  located in Clarksville, Virginia.

Kinderton Country Club first opened for play in 1948. The course was designed by Donald Ross and Dick Wilson.

Kinderton's golf course features rolling hills throughout the course with water in play on five holes.  Trees line the fairways on all holes and judiciously placed bunkers guard the greens.  Many of the greens are the traditional domed greens featured on other Donald Ross courses.  However, the course is considered woman-friendly due to a minimal number of forced carries.

Par for the course is 71. From the back tees, the course plays to 6,414 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 4,984 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 10, a par-5 that plays to 530 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 3, a par-3 that plays to 153 yards from the back tees.

Watch out for # 6, a 404-yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 18, a 297 yard par-4.

#6 is called “The Monster” by everyone who plays it.  One of the toughest par fours in the state, it requires a 210 yard carry off the tee over a lake where proper positioning for the second shot is essential. The elevated green is protected by bunkers left and right with out of bounds over the green.

Also challenging is # 8, a 211-yard par 3 that plays across a valley from the blue/white tees and severely uphill from the silver/red/gold tees.
